 Agnes M. Kesl - Funeral services for Agnes M. Kesl, 96, formerly of the Elberon community, who died Friday, Nov. 12, 1993, in Bethesda Care Center, Toledo, were held in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Vining, at 11:00 o'clock Monday morning, Nov. 15. Fr. Everett J. Frese officiated. Mrs. Barb Cibula was organist.
 Pallbearers were Ed Nekola, Dick Prusha, Ervin Nekola, Dale Mikoda, Robert Rayman and Elmer Chalupsky. Burial was in National Cemetery, rural Vining.
 Wake services was held at 7:00 o'clock Sunday evening at Hrabak's Funeral Home, Belle Plaine.
Born Dec. 11, 1896, in rural Chelsea, Agnes Marie was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Zhorne Behounek. She attended the rural school in the area of her birth through the eighth grade.
 She married Fred M. Kesl of rural Chelsea Feb. 10, 1920 and the couple farmed in the Chelsea and Elberon communities. They moved to the Elberon community March 1, 1935 and Mrs. Kesl entered Bethesda Care Center, Sept. 13 of this year.
Mrs. Kesl was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Vining, was a member and past president of the Elberon American Legion Auxiliary and belonged to the Elberon Homemakers Club. She was a volunteer at the Veteran's Hospital, Iowa City, for many years.
 Survivors include two sons, Russell Kesl, Elberon and Richard Kesl, Waterloo, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who died in January, 1953, and a brother, Frank Behounek.
