NAME: Cocks/Cox, Mary Catherine (m. Omer O. Clapsaddle)

 Mary Kathryn Cox was born March 3, 1865 in England, the daughter of Henry and Elsie Cox, and died March 3, 1953 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Hubbard, at Mt. Vernon.
 The family moved to this country when she was 2 years old and settled in Illinois, later moving to Manson, Iowa. On Feb. 7, 1887 she was married to Omer Clapsaddle of DeKalb, Ill. and went there to live. Five children were born to them. Later, the family returned to Iowa and lived at Manson, Gilmore City and Rolfe before moving to Letcher in 1901. In March of 1916 they moved to Mitchell.
 Mr. Clapsaddle died in the spring of 1928, and Mrs. Clapsaddle continued to live in Mitchell until June 7, 1950 when she went to live with Mr. & Mrs. Hubbard at Mt. Vernon.
 She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Mitchell and attended until shortly before her death.
 Survivors include one son, Clarence, of Buhl, Idaho; 2 daughters, Mrs. Will Ferguson of Atlantic, IA and Mrs. George Hubbard, Mt. Vernon; three brothers, Harry, Charles, and Peter Cox of Manson,IA; 20 grandchildren, and 40 great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Claude, and daughter, Mrs. Ed [Brockman].
