MERYL E. COX
 Meryl E. Cox, 87, of Munster, Ind. and formally of the Villageof Lakewood Club, Mich., passed away Tuesday, March 25, 1997.
 Meryl served with the U.S. ArmyCompany C 596th S.A.W. BN during World War II. He was a member of the AmericanLegion Post 1253 in Lee, Ill.,he retired from Union Specialty Co. in Chicago.He was also a member of St. Thomas More Churchand formerly a member of St. Mary of the Woods in Lake Wood Club, Mich.
 He is survived by one stepson, Walter(Marguerite) Pietraszak of Munster, Ind.; eight grandchildren; sixgreat-grandchildren; four brothers: George and Vincent of Shabbona, Charles(Mercedes) Cox of Prairie Du Sac, Wis., and Harold (Helen) Cox of Lee; and onesister, Regina (William) Knight of Peoria; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 He was preceded in death by his wife:Charlotte Pietraszak Cox; his parents, George and Ellen Cox; two sisters,Frances Follin and Mary Cox; and one brother: Frederick Cox.
 Funeral services will be heldTuesday, April 1, 1997 at 9:30 a.m. at the Burne-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 CalumetAve., Munster, Ind., with a 10 a.m. mass at St. Thomas More Church, with FatherIan Williams will be officiating. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Lee. Visitation will beMonday, March 31 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
 In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Thomas Morewould be appreciated.
