MUSCATINE - Birdie E. Burzell, 90, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1996, at Lutheran Homes, where she has been a resident for the past eight years.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Robert Ahlstrom, chaplain of Lutheran Homes will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Homes Alzheimer's Unit.
Mrs. Burzell was born on Jan. 2, 1906, in Eliza, Ill., the daughter of Sidney and Della Coulter Cozad. She married Elmer Burzell on Dec. 16, 1940, in Kahoka, Mo.
Survivors include one son, Richard Cozad of Muscatine; three daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Violet) Crueler, and Hilda Long, both of Muscatine, and Mrs. J. C. (Dee) Jones of East Moline, Ill.; 28 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984, three sons, one daughter, two brothers, and one great-granddaughter.
SERVICES Burzell, Birdie - Friday, 1:30 p.m. Ralph J. Wittich-Riley Freers Funeral Home; visitation, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
