NAME: Davis, Kenneth Robert (m. Leola Fern Scott)
Kenneth Davis, 71, Stratford, a longtime Stanhope area farmer, died Sunday, May 20, 1990, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks. Services were held Wednesday, May 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the Christian Church, Stanhope, with the Rev. Richard Morris officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. The Foster Funeral Home, Webster City, was in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth Rovert Davis, son of Earl and Alice (Peterson) Davis, was born Jan. 7, 1919, on a farm southwest of Stanhope. He graduated from Stanhope High School in 1936, and began farming in the Stanhope area. He married Fern Scott on Nov. 3, 1940 in Stanhope. The couple farmed in the Stratford and Stanhope area until retiring in 1983. They moved to Stratford in 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Fern, son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Joyce Davis, Ames; three grandchildren, Michelle, Stephanie and Ryan Davis, all of Ames; a brother, Marvin Davis, Boone, a sister, Pauline (Mrs. Robert) Ness, Story City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Mr. Davis was a member of the Christian Church of Stanhope.
