Gene Duncan
 Gene Church Duncan of Fredonia died April 1 at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. He was 81.
 Funeral services for Mr. Duncan will be held on Monday, April 5, at 1:30 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction.
 Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 4, at the funeral home with the family present from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery.  A memorial has been established.
 Mr. Duncan was born March 8, 1912 to Enos and Jetta Lee Church Duncan. He was baptized at the First Christian Church in Cedar Rapids as a child.
 He married Hannah Evelyn Duncan Sept. 3, 1938 in the United Methodist Rectory, Columbus Junction.
 Mr. Duncan worked for the Rock Island Railroad for 35 years as a clerk. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the V.F. W. and the Allen Wright Hanft Post 100 of the American Legion.
 Survivors include his wife, Hannah Evelyn Duncan, Columbus Junction; two sons, Jack Duncan, New York, N. Y. and Robert Duncan of Columbus Junction; two grandchildren, Angie Duncan, Davenport, and Jerry Duncan, Iowa City, and a sister, Theo "Tissy" Grover, Fredonia.
 Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, and step father, Jesse Peter Knott, a son Lewis, one brother Robert Jack Duncan and a sister Amelia Duncan.
