 H. L. ``Scotty'' Scott, a retired insurance accountant who resided in Austin for 32 years, died Tuesday, May 27. He was 71. Born and raised in Webster City, Iowa, he was the son of Clarence and Gladys Dingman Scott. He served in the U. S. Army and the U. S. Marine Corps and was a Korean War veteran. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Scott was also active for a number of years with the Boy Scouts of America.
 He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sally Lamb Scott of Austin; their children, daughter, Laurel Scott of San Diego, Calif.; son, Steve and wife, Gail of Eden, Texas; son, Greg and wife, Linda of Austin; daughter, Sara Fridel and husband, Frank of Round Rock, Texas; and four grandchildren, Cody and Kyle of Eden and Zach and Jacob of Austin. He is also survived by a brother, Earl of Davenport, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews.
 A memorial service is planned for August 15th at 1:00 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 4700 Grover Ave., Austin. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
